Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com, and we get questions all the time from our customers about different ways to secure down cargo in trailers. Today, we're looking at one from Cargosmart. This is going to be a gated D-ring. This will allow you to slide looped straps in, it'll allow you to slide chain links in if you're going to be using something like that. We've used a couple of three-eighths inch carriage bolts here to secure it down to the floor. Now, all in all, it has a nice sturdy feel to it. more

Now if you've ever had these installed in your trailer, as you drive around they can generally make a lot of noise. Basically, this one has a separate piece that installs underneath it. Puts a little spring tension up against it, and it really eliminates that headache. You'll see the yellow zinc finish on all the components will help to ensure even if you're going to be using this outdoors in the utility trailer type situation, you won't have any issues at all with this rusting or corroding. more

Basically, the benefit that I see out of this that I don't see on a lot of the other ones, it doesn't kind of change the look of your trailer floor all of that much. Makes it a nice smooth floor when we're not in use. Essentially, this is going to be a D-ring attached to a 1/2" diameter bolt.Basically, when it's removed, as you can see, it gives us a nice flat floor. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at a D-ring with plate here. Now, I like this idea and I like this style. Basically, we've got a nice D-ring here we can connect our strap to, and when not in use, it lays right down in here. CargoSmart Removable D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor Review 3481765- Video
Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. And we get questions all the time about the different D-rings and securement points that we have available for enclosed trailers, for utility trailers, different things like that.Today we're looking at a 1/4" swiveling D-ring from CargoSmart. This one happens to have a removable pin so we can take this off if we're gonna use any kind of closed loop connection point. Overall, it gives us an 800 pound safe working load limit, but keep in mind that's going to depend on your attachment point and what you're secured to and what you're securing with. Now if you're securing it just to the thin quarter inch plywood here on the side of the trailer, probably not going to hit hold 800 pounds. If you've got it bolted down to the steel frame of a trailer, it certainly will.Have a nice large D-ring. more

Review of etrailer Trailer Tie Downs - Recessed D-Ring with Round Holes - RRING-R6000- Video
Today we'll be taking a look at the recessed D Ring. This is going to give you a secure mounting point for any items on your trailer, but then it'll just sit nice and flush so you don't have to worry about it being a tripping hazard as you're walking up or loading any of your items, rolling wheels across it. We'll have our D Ring that's attached with a nut and bolt on the opposite side. This is going to give us a 6,000 pound pull capacity, or ultimate break strength, but it does have a 2000 pound working load limit, so you never want to exceed the manufacturer's weight recommendation with that.As far as overall dimensions, it's about four and a half inches wide by five inches long. The inside diameter of that D Ring is about one and a half inches, and then the thickness of the ring is about three eighths of an inch. You do need to cut out a little space for that to sit down in flush with the floor of your trailer. more

Today we're gonna take a look at the Rack Em Bolt on Steel, Heavy Duty Stake Pocket for Flatbed Truck or Trailer. This is a nice heavy duty bracket that'll create one stake pocket on your flatbed truck or trailer, and allows you to build a side wall to help contain cargo. It's a nice tapered design, ensures the stake will fit snugly into the pocket. And it is designed to work with a 2 by 4 that is tapered at the bottom. It is paint-able to match your vehicle or trailer, you can see it is pre drilled for easy bolt on installation. Right over here you can see there's four square holes that provide mounting points for five sixteenths inch diameter carriage bolt. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Tow Racks L track. This is going to come in anodized black measuring 18 inches long by one and three 16th inch wide. This is going to be a great addition to your enclosed trailer, your truck, van, anywhere you need a secure tie down point for your cargo.This is going to be a nice low profile design. It's a very thin but sturdy piece of anodized aluminum. Something I really like about that is that we don't have to worry about any rusting over time, but it's still going to be really nice and lightweight but again, very durable. And I also really like that it comes in black, black goes with everything.Matches up any trailer, or truck, or any kind of design that you might have in mind. more

Today we're going to take a quick look at the tow racks L track. This is going to be a tapered design in anodized black measuring 12 inches long by two and a half inches wide.It is going to be a great system to have inside your enclosed trailer. Maybe on your truck, your van. Just about anywhere you need that secure attachment point for keeping any cargo lashed down.The nice thing about the tapered design is that that's going to allow for any wheeled objects, any vehicles to easily roll over that without any worries about thumping around, makes it a little bit nicer for walking over as well. So it works out really well as floor track.Something I really like about this is that it's going to be a aluminum construction so that it's very lightweight, but still very durable and no worries about rusting out. This is going to stay nice and corrosion free.I also like that it comes in black, everything goes with black, always looks nice and classy, so it matches up just about any application that you would use this with.You will need to provide your own hardware with this. more

Today we're going to be taking a quick look at the Tow Rack's L-Track. This is going to be a domed design in anodized black measuring 12 inches long by two inches wide.Now this is going to be a great addition to your enclosed trailer, your van, your truck, pretty much anywhere where you need a nice secure anchor point for any tie downs. The nice thing about this is that it's going to have a nice curved design so this is going to work out especially well for any floor mounted tracks so you don't have to have any worries about any trip points. It's going to allow any tires to roll easily over it. At the end you'll notice it is going to be a nice right angle so you can match this up to other lengths, get your track as long as you need it to be, or you can also add on an end cap to finish off that look, prevent any tripping hazard, any snags that can happen at that little .. Right angle is a little bit sharp so you wouldn't want to get your toe snagged on it.This is available separately. more

It makes it really sleek and nice and we don't have to worry about any rusting or corrosion with that anodized aluminum.This doesn't come with any hardware to get it attached down. You will have to provide that on your own, but as you can see, those holes are a counter sunk design so if you get one of those flat top counter sunk bolts, those should fit in there nicely and allow you to have full access to your track to secure any of your cargo down.Now you will need to require an L track anchor. more

Today we're gonna take a look at the tie down anchor for Tow-Rax L-Track. This is gonna be a single stud, with a 667 pound capacity and it comes as a single quantity.Now this is gonna be a great way to use your L-Track system from Tow-Rax, to secure any of your cargo down in your enclosed trailer, maybe on your flatbed truck or really anywhere where you have that Tow-Rax L-Track installed.The way that's going to work. Bring over a piece of L-Track here, this does not come with it, but you can find this here at etrailer.com. Along with many other lengths of L-Track. So basically, you're just going to, the way I found that's kinda easiest is to bend that ring out of the way, and then use your thumb to sort of plunge it down, and pull up on that little bracket there. And then you can either put it in to the ring slot or that round slot, and slide it over. more

This is going to work out well for a wall mounted tack or floor mounted track since we have our domed design. It allows wheeled vehicles to roll easily across it. We won't have to worry about tripping up over it since it's going to be a nice low profile with that smooth edge there.One thing to keep in mind with this is that the hardware is not included with this. You will need to pick up some screws to attach this down, some counter sunk screws, basically that means it has a flat top in that conical head so it can fit down into the mounting hole there. more

The mounting bracket measures edge to edge, going this direction, about 3 and 1/8 to 3 and 3/16. Side to side is 1 and 3/4 inches. more

This is going to be a really nice option for securing your bungee cord, or whatever you've roped down in your truck, boat, trailer, really anywhere you would need a nice secure mounting location.It's gonna be a spring-loaded hook, as well. So, that does a couple things. It's going to stay flat whenever it's not in use. But, it's also going to swing out and then hold whatever hook we're using secure to prevent some rattle there.This is going to be made out of a nice steel construction with a zinc finish, so it's gonna be nice and bright, easily visible, and also resist some rust and corrosion.It does have a little vinyl cap on the end of those hooks, which is gonna prevent scratching or any abrasions on your cargo, as well as making it a little easier to grab since you're not having to grab the metal which can maybe be cold or sharp.This does come with mounting hardware to get this installed. more
